I wonder if I can come out of a headache as a millionaire?
Many times we don’t even understand how much we label people with a disability. Sometimes it’s by looking the other way when we walk past , then sometimes it’s by striking up another conversation so nobody brings it up , or sometimes even avoiding disabled people all together.
In treatment centers and facilities all across the world people that are able and willing and ready and excited to do things are laying in the bed somewhere hiding out from the rest of the world because of their disability, not by their choice but because they’ve been labeled and stamped. That’s how they’re going to have to live their lives unless somebody intervenes.
Here’s an example of what is possible. Not only is it possible it’s very likely that you could find a group of people like this that could run a restaurant or another type of store in any type of a workshop or facility where they help people with disabilities. But many times owners of businesses do not want them around because of the way that they act or the way that they walk even.
This story illustrates the term ” normalization” – which occurs when mainstream society focus on the strengths that the disabled have, and use them in place of their weaknesses. We all have strengths and weaknesses, the only difference between us and them is they wear theirs on their sleeve.
What’s true of every human being is we tend to rise up to the expectations or lower ourselves to the expectations of the environment around us.
For example if you’re screaming and yelling at your children on the way to the library usually by the time you get to that library door you make good and sure that nobody is screaming when you walk in the library , because they dont tolerate it.
It’s the same for people with disabilities. They rise to the highest level they can and when put in the right environment and whatever they cannot accomplish another can make up, but you’ll never know unless you raise that bar of expectations.

Im sitting at the doctors office right now about an hour early. I didnt time things very well. Nevertheless, I had already come up with a topic I wanted to write about since I was so early..
I hate typing posts from my phone. It feels like Im trying to play the piano with tennis balls on my finger tips. Awkward. But, I digress.
I did something in the waiting room just a few minutes ago that I have not done in over two years. I watched television. I havent owned a television or had cable for about 5 years, totally on purpose.
Today I held a remote. I sat through 30 minutes of Dr. Phil and I was only able to stomach that because it was David Cassidy’s last interview. Otherwise I have a hard time keeping from getting sick when I watch TV, in the daytime especially. Then when the news pops in every 30 minutes or so with more and more depressing inserts into what’s going wrong in our world. It just makes me more depressed and more depressed until I just don’t want to look at it anymore.
One thing I did notice was perspective. The things that used to be big are tiny and the things that used to be tiny are huge. I noticed this and I took a picture of it as it physically can be seen in this picture .
Media and television in general has pushed the Christmas thing right of the way . It may just be an office Im at now, but this little tree and big screen television are symbolic of our society today. We have squeezed the relevance and meaning out of everything and replaced it with mostly junk.
I will try to make a tiny difference by having a big Christmas tree with no television.
Plus I will say Merry Christmas to each person I see.
You know I only got an hour or so of sleep last night. I must have read this wrong. No way a judge would assign custody of a kid to a rapist…someone click on it and tell me what I missed.
I Forget exactly how this story goes.
I know it involves a girl who loves her daddy, and finds out just how good of a singer he is ..as would millions of us youtube viewers find out too..
If you are a blues lover – its icing.
If you happened to be a Chris Stapleton fan ( the country one)- IT IS THE CAKE..
A priest, a teacher, a millionaire, and a narcissist were golfing together.
As they walked the course, they came up behind a foursome that was moving very slowly, and that didn’t offer to let them play through. Calling over the club pro, the foursome inquired about the poor sportsmanship of the slow group. The pro explained that the slow golfers were blind. The priest said, Oh, bless them, I will keep them in my prayers. The teacher said, I will tell my students how inspiring they are. The millionaire said, I will offer to pay their greens fees for the year. The narcissist said, Why can’t they play at night?
I enjoy some funny stuff so I thought a great way to kick it off would be to single out the greatest people ever to walk this planet. Don’t take my word for it, just ask a narcissist! They have a way of taking out the trash but taking credit for painting the whole house…vampires wont bite them out of professional courtesy!
I think everyone has had some sort of encounter with a narcissistic person at some point even if you didn’t know what to call it. Grandiose views of themselves that few others share, and outstanding ability to attach themselves to the spotlight, at ANY cost – any cost to you, that is..
