Its hard to imagine that this could be true, but when Yuu see it is fact, it should encourage any if us who have been consistently rejected in dome area or areas of our lives. I guess the bottom line is
Delay is not Denial.
Put your hands together , this really deserves a round of appawse!
I remember it like it was just yesterday. The notification for sets highest volume possible my favorite tune. Just pacing back and forth each day waiting for that one one sound that would indicate my career and my skills as a writer were on track with what I thought. But when that moment came….oh yeah… as I recall I think I had the doorbell to the house set up to ring twice if I got a like. Maybe 2 weeks had passed before it happened, but it was worth every sleepless night..
Lets face it, once you been liked you never forget. You never forget your first like- its the old bicycle thing …

Hopefully you’re catching the drift here. Trailblazers and leaders rarely get support from their peers -especially from insecure ones. If you are planning on making a difference in whatever your passion is you better get a grip.
If you plan on actually pressing through the negativity, the doubt and haters you better hold on tight and get a grip on what it is you plan on doing just like the above people did and hundreds and hundreds of others have done.
If you have followed me for any length of time or you can just read my homepage and know some of the passion I have for certain issues.
Ive spent a couple decades working in and living through some of these things and have a pretty good understanding of what’s wrong in our system.
Just the other day as I was presenting an idea to a colleague I was caught off-guard when I was asked the following question.
“What are you trying to do to change the world?”
At that moment I froze- and knew I was at a crossroads.
I had to make a decision. Did I really believe what I was saying- that I could actually do this and make a difference or would I take the easy way out and fall back into sheeple position and be a follower?
So after careful thought I said “yes I do think I will change the world” I didn’t know it at the time but question was really important for me. I needed to know if I really believed in what I was doing.
Do you really believe you can make a change- do you have a grip?

Many times I have asked myself if I was doing or pursuing the right thing, professionally especially. I have had many doors shut in my face and many swing open, but have always wondered how to know which way to even think as I looked into the options. Here is a concept to consider when making choices that will have long term effects on you, whether good or not so good. It always helps to find out if you are even looking in the right area when seeking out a career, a career change, or even taking on a project such as a blog, or writing a book.
When we make a decision to make a move towards a particular interest we must know and understand the following idea in order to avoid years of head and heartache, and becoming discouraged about our choices. The idea applies to CEO’s or new college grads looking to enter the workforce and everyone in the middle. Here it is, so really try to focus on it, and apply it to your current situation. Take a minute to see if things are lined up as they should be in your life.
Are You Using Your Gifts, Or Your Skill Set?
We all have gifts that we were born with, gifts that are unique and that not everyone has. If you have a gift of teaching for example, then you will find that you have a burning passion inside to teach. You have a yearning to teach, and you are effective at it. Gifting will not be identified on vocational testing, it is something you have to identify and search out. What is it that you are passionate about, and feel strongly about making a difference in? Are you equipped with the right gifts to move forward in that area?
Next, we must recognize what a skill set is, compared to a gifting. It is critical to know the difference as it may determine if you burn out in your career or you flourish and love your choice. Skill sets are learned skills. We are not born with skill sets, we learn them as we go through certain jobs, people, family or even the internet. A set of skills may make you capable of doing a job well, but leave you wanting in the ” what is my purpose ” area. Lets take the teacher example. Being a teacher requires a college education and training on methods of teaching, how different people learn, how to manage classrooms and the like. One may graduate with honors with a teaching certificate, but crash and burnout in 3 years, because they do not have the gift of teaching, they have a skill set on teaching.
We can use both our gifts and our skill sets, but order is key. Gifting must come first, and skills second. If you were the owner of a company, would you rather hire a gifted employee who may need some skill training, or an employee who has no fire, no passion for the job, but does meet criteria to complete the requirements because they have good skills?
The separation in your mind of where your gifting is, versus where your learned skills are, will help you make the right call when looking to embark on any new job, or project in your life.
The past is a reference , not a residence. Do not let the things that took place define the future. Never look back unless it is to see how far you have come. You may not be where you want to be, but be glad you are not where you were! Everyone has made mistakes, we all have made poor decisions, acted in ways that were not ideal, and said things we regret. We should learn from those mistakes. One thing is for sure, nobody ever got to the next level while tripping over their past missteps . If you want to get ahead, you cannot be looking backwards. Make right what you can, forgive and accept forgiveness for past problems, and do all you can to right anything you have wronged. After that, turn the page and press forward! Make today the first day of the rest of your life! It really is time to let it go– regrets, resentments, anger, and disappointments from the past only serve as a ball and chain for you as you head towards your goal. Cut the chains, and never look back, unless of course it is to confirm how far you have come! Nobody has a testimony without a test and nobody has a message without a mess! Are you ready to move forward today?
