At the end of the day it’s never the hurtful words of my enemies that get to me. At the end of the day it’s the silence of my friends that hurts the most.
At the end of the day it’s never the hurtful words of my enemies that get to me. At the end of the day it’s the silence of my friends that hurts the most.
Well- Not really but I suppose to some who had been living with head buried under rock, it may have been a bit shocking. To me, it was long overdue and just the tip of the iceberg. I still felt a little hoarse in my voice from years of proclaiming this very thing to anyone I could.
This truly was a wake-up call for me in another way, however. I watched the Pennsylvania official list hundreds of priests busted and thousands of victims identified in just one area of the state. I remember watching it and not even shaking my head in surprise or flinching as he read of the most hideous, perverted, disgusting tools the worlds largest organized pedophile racket used to keep their system working.
Some of the examples were several pedo-priests ordering kids to stand naked in the shape of the cross, because Jesus did. They snapped pics and God only knows did what with them. Another example of the intimidation used was after children were sexually abused they were ordered to go to confession! This way they could bear the guilt and shame of the deviants. And so the plot thickens- as Bishop asks for consensual sex with any 7 year old poor altar boy who cannot run faster than the Bishop….Stay Tuned- As Next time we inquire as to why the need to lower the consensual sex age for little boys when Pedo-Pope swore ZERO TOLERANCE! Could it be because the ZERO TOLERANCE was meant for any more punks who spoke up??? Hmm.
You know suicide is death. Regardless of the reason the person chose it. The thing is though, when we are dealing with death – you would almost think that if any common denominator could be found or pattern of behavior that proved to lead up to suicides, we would absolutely POUNCE all over it and end it ASAP! You would think…
In the case of my brother Danny- there was a clear trail of evidence that shined a bright light on the reason that a recent college graduate, waiting to get on with the Police force fresh out of school and ready to embark on a new career would suddenly pick up his pistol, while we sat on a couch and watched late night television and blow his brains out.
Of course at the very moment he got up and told me he was going for a walk I noticed he was not acting his usual self. He didn’t drink, but that night I noticed as we watched the tube, that he was holding a shot glass. Never saw it before, I didn’t say anything, he was an adult, and that was his right.
Then he casually walked out the door at around 10pm maybe later. I fell asleep on the couch and when I woke up it was around 2am. I walked over to lock up and noticed his car in the drive but I hadn’t remembered him coming in the door from his walk. So I took a look around and saw nothing. I checked his room to see if he got in without me a hearing but nobody.
I knew something was wrong but no clue what. I woke my mother and told her he hadn’t returned from a walk and I was going to look around, Instantly I knew by the look in her eyes that she knew something was wrong, in a way that only a mother could know. We split up in the woods we lived in, and went different directions. It was not 15 minutes before I was stopped in my tracks by a shriek/scream that I will never forget. It was my mom. She had come up on Danny. Laying in a field a few blocks from the house – dead.
He used his .38 to put a round in his temple and the only other things he had on was his cross from a recent Curcio weekend he had been on and a little piece of paper in his shirt pocket he had written
I Love You.
I am sure the shock we felt was similar to many who had the same experience. But there was one thing I was about to discover that changed everything for me and has kept me busy for 20 years tracking and revealing to any authority who would listen the news I had. That night my brother gave up on his pain, I found a locked box in the bottom corner of his closet. When I cracked it open a huge stack of folded and neatly stacked letters fell out. I picked one up and quickly scanned it looking for any clue as to what was going on in his life.
I soon read about the third line down and realized this was a romantic and personal letter with sexual innuendos and comments like ” I miss your touch” etc
Damn it. His girl must have broken up with him and somehow sent him over the edge. I slowly read the rest and as I got near the last line my eyes bulged out of my head as I read the signature it did not say, love Julie, or goodbye, love Samantha.
Wait just a minute Father Al was Dannys high school priest at the Catholic High School he attended before college. These letters were written while Danny was out-of-state at college. They were love letters, letters reminding Danny of how much Father Al had done for him in High School. He expected immediate contact when Danny arrived back home. And that was exactly the time my brother knew he would either soon have to face Father Al- or exit stage left and avoid the painful memories and expectations.
After the initial shock, I gathered the letters to get over to the Diocese and hoped and assumed the police would have Father Al questioned and maybe arrested within 24 hours. I brought the letters into the diocese and explained the situation, then showed them graphic evidence of obvious abuse over a long period of time that had been going on. At least the freak will spend a long time behind bars I thought. That day, July 5th 1992 was the beginning of a long journey for me of discovering that what had happened was not only of no interest to the Diocese but they were supporting the Pedo-priest and even sheltered him from any media or police.
Its 26 years later and I have been inside Catholic organizations as an employee, I have tracked repeat offender pedo-priests over and over only to see them protected by whatever Diocese they belonged to, then quickly shuffled out-of-state and back to raping kids. Well, I thought, It’s a no-brainer, I’ll get the law involved with all the evidence and they can prosecute. To my dismay, I have yet to find any agency whether the Police, States Attorney, or Child Protective Services who would so much as take a report on even major cases – they refused.
There is a saying ” The fish stinks from the head down” – so I decided to start at the top. Let’s see what the Pope and his crew are doing about this whole epidemic. As it turned out, around the time I started researching the Popes actions – he was smack dab in the middle of an unfortunate case of bishops and priests found naked at the Vatican, with their play toys altar boys, oh yes and also alot of powder cocaine.
At that time the Vatican had filed suit against the Italian Police to disallow them any involvement or information about ANY further molestation charges that would ever occur at the Vatican. The pope cited his own team’s ability to investigate and resolve any issues.
While that went back and forth the pope was asked publicly about yet another scandal involving another crew of pedo-priests who were caught chasing their boys around the altar and then having their way with the boys. Eagerly awaiting a bold stand from the pope now that his gang had been cold busted two times in a few months. However, he chose to tell the public that we should have mercy on the predators and remember to extend forgiveness, as the Lord would.
Now at that time, I could only recall scripture where Jesus said ” If anyone should cause one of these little ones to sin, it would be better if they had a millstone tied around their neck and be thrown in the ocean”
Then another verse from Jesus came to mind ” If your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off . It would be better to enter the kingdom of heaven maimed than not enter”
Somehow I was not getting any of that from the pope – just justification for pedophilia and a paved road for the homosexual lifestyle in general.
As it turns out the Catholic pedo-priest racket is no occasional mishap in the church. It is currently estimated that over 30k priests are under investigation for abuse, and the Catholic church has paid out over 6 BILLION dollars to pay off victims from testifying in court. In a few cases I was involved in the youth who broke the secret of a 2 year-long -8 boy molestation ring in one church, suddenly found himself deported out of this country, leaving his family behind, but within two weeks of opening his mouth, he disappeared. Others have not been found.
Recently a high-ranking Bishop in New York publicly announced his filing of a court document that would seek to make the age of accountability for an altar boy caught in a sex act with a priest 7 years old.
Let me repeat that. The Bishop is pushing for a law that will allow priests to continue and rape little boys, however, if the child is 7 or older,. the act however gruesome would be considered ” consensual “.
Now despite the hope of the faithful who continue to support these pedophiles by giving large sums of money to the church and even allowing their children to be ALONE with a priest, the reality is that the Catholic Church is far and away the worlds largest organized pedophile racket and is supported from the top down, It is estimated that 50-60% of all Catholic priests, bishops, Cardinals, etc are in some way involved in supporting this organized racket.
So as I close, and after you have heard what a friend went through in the Facebook clip after the suicide of a close buddy how do you feel about the fact that we have a clear and shining path and pattern which is responsible for thousands of suicides, drug overdoses or criminal lives – you see usually a sexually abused victim of a priest especially long-term will select one of the three choices. Suicide, Drug OD, or street crime and gang life.
You see we have a spotlight shining on a direct line to cut off many of these tragedies. It’s in our laps. The evidence, The victims. Payoffs. It’s all irrefutable evidence. Why – oh why do we allow a massive pedophile ring to thrive in the Catholic church when we know the outcomes after the freaks are done playing with their play toys. They are simply disposable. Garbage. Trash. I have read the victims sworn statements. I have tracked down a young man who after being raped for two years with 7 friends, could not take it – he told. In 2 weeks he was by himself in Mexico, I spoke to him.
What happens if one of our neighbors is busted molesting a young boy or girl? Its cuffed and stuffed correct? But, somehow, we allow undercover ” holy men ” to enjoy their perverse ways and get paid well to do so. Oh, and by the way – the priest who was accused ( and found innocent ) by the ” Church Investigation” is named Father Gondek. This 8 boy allegation over two years was totally on his hands as he was caught in the act and some other acts I won’t even repeat. Eight boys, two years, sounds like life maybe right? Let me tell you what punishment Father Gondek of North Carolina got.
1- Early and fully paid retirement.
2- Relocation to one of the churches lavish resorts for his type.
3- He was pronounced the richest man in Lexington, NC as he was awarded a service award in front of the entire church congregation.
Oh- one last thing Father Albert Gondek (pictured below) is the same Father Al who molested my brother in high school years. The one who signed the letters. Oddly enough, he was accused 2 more times between my brother’s death, and the 8 boy rampage he went on for 2 years in North Carolina.
Funny thing, he managed to walk on those two and the 8 boys.
If he has committed 3 we know of, then its safe to say maybe 30-50 at least are out there….but hes not the only one. Those 30k others under ” investigation” are all over. You know – I don’t care of you are Catholic, Lutheran, Baptist, or atheist.
Sexual abuse is KILLING thousands and we know who, and why and we have proof. It’s curious how it continues to thrive. ..Any other fruitcake like these predators would be being punished in state prison. Yet there are still people today, who choose to stick their fingers in their ears, yell ” La- La -La ” and keep dumping money in the church for their legal funds to pay off those victims that they cannot make go away.
Father Albert Gondek- Molesting since 1991
Other members of the flock- doing what they can for the community
It’s all about the children when it comes to mentoring by priests
Often times the Diocese will even take care of children at the mall while the parents’ shop! It’s all Hands On with these servants.
Now for some light reading here is a link to the Catholic Churches report on the guilty flock members…. even as cleverly as they divide by state and diocese and all to make the numbers seem smaller, a few extra clicks will get you a more accurate picture of all the accused Bishops , and Priests, Nuns, etc Nationally and Internationally.
Now these are the numbers that the church has kept to themselves and not made privy to any outsiders…
I am positive they have gotten a good portion of the predators on paper…but just in case, I usually figure this represents about 50% of the actual guilty.
Oh and as I mentioned – it is VERY costly to keep paying off these punks who speak up and need a payoff to skip court like I said over 6 Billion has been paid out….so in light of this fact you will notice the Accountability site has made available a chance for us to donate to their cause of running their criminal priests site. I am sure it goes to a good cause.
Man have I been tested in the last few years. I know I am not the only one and many of you have been through tough times as well. I guess this is a ” faith post ” and I make no apologies for it. I do however invite my agnostics, non-believers, atheists and Palm tree seekers to still read. We all have tough times so we have that in common.
For me it is my faith in God that I rely on after years of going it alone. The thing is, is its hard. The world we live in is broken. People are twisted. Hurt is everywhere. Tragedy is all over. So how does one get through these trials and come out the other side still able to live – or even want to?
Some of you have lost children, spouses, or had terrible health issues that have left you crippled in your mind and sometimes physically. How do we cope? What does that even look like? To me it was very much a shock to grab hold of my faith, trusting it would carry me over the storms, only to find out that it simply carried me through the storms.
There is a huge difference in that. For me the main difference is a maturity issue. I once was bottle fed as a believer and it seemed like God just babied me through my trials. However after a decade or so in the faith I realized something I did not really care to know. I started to understand that just as we are expected to grow up chronologically in this world and stand on our own two feet, we also are expected to mature in the faith.
Mature in the faith? What is that supposed to mean? Well, for me it has meant being forced to cling to the promises of God in scripture, and to Him. It has – for me anyway meant being stripped of my comforts and things or people who gave me security and lay alone, cold and afraid with nobody to look to except the Lord. Not easy. As a matter of fact it has been the hardest thing I have ever experienced.
I love my family, my kids and friends and all. There came a time several years ago when none of those were available to me. They all had their own agendas and life goals to attend to. I had no choice but to try to learn to rely on God for my strength, my companionship, my security and all the rest. I thought it would be a fairly easy transition. I thought wrong. It is a very hard thing to trust in and rely on God for it all.
Until you have been stripped of everything you relied on for security, you have not been in a position to have to rely on God. Maybe you are there. Maybe you are all cozy with the things this world has given you. Whatever the case, be prepared to be ” uncozy “. The thing about faith is that it’s the unseen, the unfelt, the untouchable. You cannot reach out for a warm fuzzy when you are dark and lonely.
Sounds like faith is not anything to be desired, right? Who wants to go through all that suffering? None of us. Yet the Bible talks about the ” abundant ” life. Huh? Abundant what? Well, it is an entirely different animal than what we assume. It means actually recognizing that ” the joy of the Lord is my strength. ” Not my car, job, money, kids, etc..
The truth is – people come and go, relationships come and go, kids come and go, money comes and goes, jobs too, health, and all of it. So at some point the roller coaster ride comes to a halt and when we look to our right and left, all of our security blankets may be gone. What now? This is where the rubber meets the road.
God is the same yesterday , today and forever.
There is a Country song out for years about the ” whiskey ain’t workin anymore “. After some of us are confronted with the inevitable, the loss of our security blankets on this earth, some turn to temporary fixes like alcohol or drugs and they sometimes work for a while. It is after they stop working that we are backed up against the wall. Nothing left to turn to – except God and that is only if one is even willing to acknowledge Him.
This post is just to promote thinking – as there is no way I could go into even the trials I have dealt with. The point here is this; It is possible to only need God. It is possible to have unexplainable Joy in the midst of trials. It is only possible for those willing to ask, seek and knock like never before. Call on the name of the Lord every day and study the promises in His Word. Renew our minds each day with the truth, not the lies of this world.
If you do not believe there is a spiritual battle going on for your soul on this earth than you will at some point understand that. Right now if you are struggling, I recommend God. I recommend faith. I recommend it before you need it if that is a possibility in your life. I know from years of messages from you all that some worship watermelons or mother earth. I know some of you have your trust in ” the universe” – which is becoming very popular. The thing about prayer, is it only helps if it is sent to the living God, not a sea turtle nest.
Keep on with it. When things dry up – turn to the creator not the creation.
It will be the best wager you ever made. Peace.
I don’t often have the time to listen to many podcasts, but when I started listening to this Christian Prophetic podcast by Doug Addison, I could not stop. It speaks to me on many issues in my life and questions I have had this last year, and I am positive it will for you too. If you are going through a ” where is God ” time, or suffering from addictions and sickness, this is for you.
If you just need a boost in your faith, and encouragement this is for you. Take time to listen to it while you are working on a post or something, but don’t miss it!
“ If anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me -to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea“
Matthew 18:6 ( NIV)
One of the most amazing facts about child abuse to me, is that so very little effort is actually put into stopping it. Child trafficking, child predators rarely get justice served to them. Let me give you some eye-popping statistics I collected from the FBI site.
These are some mind-blowing statistics. It would be overwhelming enough if those numbers were accurate, but if you read carefully through those facts, you will notice that it must represent a tiny fraction of what is really going on. If only 1-10% incidents of child molestation are ever reported, you do the math. Now we are looking at up to 4 million offenders in the USA. It is also scary to think that one organized group of molesters, priests of the Catholic church represent roughly 10% of all the offenders. How scary is that?
We also have Human Trafficking as a huge problem, which is child molestation wrapped in a different package.
Of course after those two categories of abuse we have child abuse of a different nature. Hitting your child, endangering them in some way. Every state as some form of agency to monitor this, and as we have all heard, they can literally yank your kid from your house if they feel you are abusing them. There is much awareness about this and I believe people at least think twice before punching their child in the face or pouring scalding hot liquid on them as a form of punishment. At least there is some accountability.
For the purpose of this post, it is the sex offenders I want to address. I just posted two days ago how frustrated I am, that even as a social worker, I cannot get anyone to even take a report or look into a case involving a catholic priest who has been molesting the same 7 boys for two years.
I landed in the middle of it and ended up collecting all the evidence, statements, witnesses and even a victim and his statement naming all names times and dates. You would not have to hire Colombo for this case. Even the church found him guilty, but they have different rules for punishment. In this case it was an early paid retirement and a promise to pray and do penance. No law involved. I got this information from the head of the diocese, so it’s not me guessing. I have an email stating this. Yet when I went to the local police department to hand over the evidence they were not interested. I then went to the state police who said I need Children and Families, who also refused to take a report. I called the local states attorney and they also declined. Lastly I called the FBI sex crimes division, and they too did not take a report. Is there any wonder why the catholic church condones, supports and in some cases encourages priests molesting little kids?
I posted a few months ago an article about a bishop in New York who publicly stated that he was pushing for a change in the law, so the age of consensual sex between a priest and a child would be seven years old. Yes you read it right, seven. Now you can have a borderline IQ and figure out that the church is not heading the direction of making laws tough on pedopriests, but actually trying to make it legal to do so. If that is not supporting pedophilia in the church I do not know what it is.
Lets imagine what would happen if you or I got caught molesting our neighbors child. Busted. Do you think we would also get the free pass? I think not. The average sentence in the USA for a sex crime on a child is 11 years. But why the difference? Should it not be that the ” role models ” like men in cloth should be held to an even higher standard than the average citizen? Heck, even held to the same standard would be nice. But in the Catholic church the law is a moot point. The question is – why?
All the way from decades ago the Catholic church has been quietly getting laws passed that protect them from prosecution for pedophilia. They have more loopholes to void any prosecution than any other criminal enterprise. So we obviously can see that despite what the church spokespersons say in the media, about their being ” a few bad apples “, the truth is the church is one of the biggest child molesting rackets in the world. Instead of a few bad apples, its likely that the amount of Catholic priests that have been involved in child grooming and molestation is on the wrong side of 70%. There are a few priests out there who are in it for the right reasons. Not many though.
Why are the rules different for the clergy? Why are all the agencies in law enforcement turning a deaf ear to these crimes? Are they all on the payroll? Are some of them pedophiles themselves? Are they intimidated by the bully lawyers the church will sic on them if they open their mouth? I don’t know the answer to that question, but I sure do want one. Something has to change. I think it is time that the public formally gets involved and starts demanding answers. I think its time Catholic parishioners pull the plug on their million dollar donations and weekly offerings until we are sure that money is not being used to defend priests on court or pay off victims.
Speaking of payoffs,I have mentioned this before, but in case you missed, the amount of cash to date the Catholic church has paid to victims to shut their mouths and drop charges against priests, is about 6 Billion dollars. Yes that is a B not an M. Billion. That is a lot of molesting. If 1-10% of molestation get reported, then let’s do a little math using the Catholic churches own numbers. Their site called Bishops Accountablity ( google it) has a list of all priests either past or presently under investigation for sexual abusing a child. Now keep in mind the 1-10% figure-they report about 30k priests under investigation. Now imagine if that number should be 10x bigger!! That is reality.
The one thing I do know is that there is alot more pedophiles out there than people think. It bothers me very much that when I write about any other topic the amount of interest, likes and feedback is always higher than about this topic. It scares the you know what out of me. You figure it out. Is child pornography and pedophilia so prevalent that many people reading this will just pass it by or not even want to discuss it because they themselves are either involved in it or condone it? I am trying hard not to believe that but the numbers speak for themselves.
I am open and interested in any feedback or ideas or help in brain storming ideas on how to start an initiative to address this huge issue. I cannot tackle this by myself and I am hoping some people will want to do something about it. The outlet that has the power to make all this public is the media, but it takes numbers to get the media’s attention. They will stick with the local car thefts until they are pressured into looking into this pedopriest issue. I don’t want hear about how great the FBI is for catching one of their most wanted fugitives who stole a car and robbed 6 banks and fled to Mexico.
How about the screams of the little boys being raped by priests every single hour of every single day. When will you all start hearing those cries? Who cares about a bank robber when kids by the thousands are being tormented and will likely live a terrible life of depression or suicide as a result? Where does that rate?
I welcome your comments and ideas. God knows somebody has to do something. Priests are not supposed to be chasing alter boys around the altar.
Recently I wrote about the life of Billy Graham. I wrote about why I thought the whole world loved him. There was so much to say it was hard to make the post as short as I did. Before he died someone asked him what He would say to the Lord when He first saw Him. He said ” I would ask why me? Why did you choose an uneducated farm boy from North Carolina to minister the Gospel around the world?”
As I think now of the life of Stephen Hawking, I see just the opposite type of man who Graham was. I believe I know why God chose Billy Graham for the job. He was humble, and obedient. He was not rebellious against God, just curious. Hawking spewed so much vitriol about God and why ” we don’t need to invoke a god because science explains everything.” With all of his worldly wisdom and his IQ, he could not scrape together any common sense. He discovered but a tiny, tiny little part of how God created this universe and then attributed it to nothing. A big bang in the sky. To me, its was if was saying that my truck got here by just oozing out of the ground over millions of years. His ranting sounded that stupid.
It’s hard for me to believe how much faith that man must have had. He had more faith than I do. His faith was in ideas that something came from nothing. The fact that the earth is positioned so if we moved a centimeter to either side, earth would burn up or freeze up, to Hawing did not require intelligent design. But had enough faith in a ” big explosion” that put all of us in place. For Real??
The interesting thing about him as that in the last few decades, some of the discoveries made by scientists have made the Bible so 100% accurate that it is science trying to catch up with the bible these days. Many atheist scientists like Josh McDowell and others got so sick of hearing the name of Jesus, that went on a mission to disprove the bible. Like McDowell, when they saw that they were failing to be able to do it, gave up and surrendered to God, and now he has been used in mighty ways by God.
To think that we can answer more than God is pure pride. The bible says that pride comes before a fall. The Bible also says ” The fool hath said in his heart there is no God”.(Psalm 14:1 ) It also talks about how God will harden the hearts of those who continue to reject Him. Scary thought.
When I heard of Graham passing the first thing I thought is how pleased God must be with the obedience he showed throughout his many decades of ministry. When Stephen Hawking died, I had a very sick feeling in my gut and I cannot explain it fully but it was not joy. It is even more sad that he raised his own children to reject God. If you are a parent, can you imagine purposely leading your kids down a path to complete separation from God for eternity? I cannot imagine.
So that’s about all I have to say on Stephen hawking. I wish I could add that he had a death-bed conversation, but I don’t believe that occurred.
Attention please to all of our followers and visitors. This is a guest post I wrote for a brand new blog out called – His Excellent Grace – here on WordPress.
It is a blog about people’s personal encounters with God’s grace and events that occurred in their life where they feel God intervened in their circumstances in miraculous way. I am asking you all to check it out and follow the link at the end of this post to get there. You need not be a Christian to want to read about the incidents that take place and are documented, no more than you must be a cop to watch Cops!
So whether atheist, agnostic, tree worship person or what, everyone will enjoy reading about these different times in people’s lives when they believe God intervened with His grace. I am Tj at Don’t Label My Kid! and this is my personal story of one time I felt that God had intervened on my behalf. And by the way, anyone of you who would like to share a short post about God’s grace in your life is invited to fill out the contact sheet with your attached testimony!
Like most, I have been the recipient many times over of God’s excellent grace and I will share an example here today. Grace comes in all shapes and sizes and I have experienced much of both. This story is about my sons, Micah and Jesse. I was divorced when my two boys were young, so we did the weekend thing and they stayed at their mothers during the week. The divorce, as most do, took a huge toll on all involved, the boys were feeling in the middle and struggling with the whole thing.
I was a strong Christian at the time, but I daily worried that due to some of my own struggles that they would not have interest in “My Jesus”.
My boys were not exactly seeing me “walk the walk” all the time, and even though we were in church almost every Sunday, and I knew the word of God, I still was modeling behaviors that confused them and I was worried they would reject Christ when they were a few years older just because of what they saw in me. But I prayed all the time for the healing of memories for them, and for the breaking of generational curses of addiction that had come from up my family line. I just hoped somehow through my mess they would see a message and through my tests, they would see a testimony. Despite my struggles I had seen miracles and knew the power of God.
I knew that they needed to experience God for themselves and prayed often that God would reveal Himself to them so no matter what they had seen of me in my past they would come to the Lord because of their own experiences. That prayer was answered in both my boys lives on one occasion after a church service. They were maybe 10 & 8 years old. I had decided to stop at the Chinese place by the beach on the way home and eat some lunch. On the way. I asked my son Micah what he learned in Sunday school. He said “We learned about God’s favor, and how we Christians can have it.” I was happy to hear he was learning good solid biblical teaching. I was not, however, prepared for what was to come next.
As we pulled into the parking lot, Micah looks over to me and says, “Hey dad, lets pray for favor in the restaurant!” “Huh?” I was struggling for an answer and I thought he would forget in a minute. Nope. As we parked the truck he looked over at me again and said “What about the favor? Pray for it dad!” I was up against a wall. By now my younger son Jesse had become intrigued with this whole favor thing, and was also staring me down for an action prayer. I said, “You know son, God loves the prayers of the little children! You should pray!” It wasn’t that I was afraid to pray, I just could not think of how God could give us favor in a restaurant.
So Micah said a short prayer like “Dear God, please let us have some of your favor in here, Amen.” Precious – Yet very scary to me. What could possibly happen? We would each be given an extra fortune cookie? I just could not see it but I had no choice. His childlike faith was expectant. I was so encouraged by his faith but did not want him to be let down.
In this case, it was me with the little faith. While I doubted and worried I was about to see a life changing experience for my two boys that to this very day they recall vividly. It set a foundation for their faith and it was the answer to my prayer that they would both experience God. To me, I know also God was dropping some Excellent Grace on me because what happened was exactly what I wanted, a personal experience for them.
So here is what happened the moment we left the truck after the prayer; I opened the door for them to walk in and we waited about three minutes for the hostess. I was still more frustrated than a hornet trapped in an old Coke can, just trying to imagine what favor we could get before we left. The hostess came and grabbed three menus and asked us to follow her. We walked to the table she stopped at, waiting for her to lay the napkins or whatever down, and let us be seated. She didn’t do that though. Instead, she took a glance at all of us with a very serious look on her face, and then she reached around me to tap Micah on the shoulder.
Obviously curious what was going on, I totally stuck my face right in the way to hear what she was to say to him. What business does she had with my 10-year-old? She proceeded around me and looked Micah dead in the eye and serious as a heart attack and said. “Sugar, you are eating for free today!” No reason, rhyme or even explanation! She just walked away as if nothing unusual had taken place.
I was kind of numb about it at first thinking only of how come she picked him. Duh, she picked him because he prayed with the faith of a child for favor and sure enough he got it. That incident was one of the most powerful testimonies my kids ever saw and we still talk about it once in a while today. Not only did God grant me answered prayer about my children not running from Him, but He went further and straight up did a miracle for a 10-year-old who asked for it. Simple, simple faith it was.
To this day I count that incident as a shining example of how God gave me something I did not deserve, a miracle for my boys to see that solidified their faith in God at a very young age. It may not work the same in every situation, but it did that day, and I needed a second chance for their faith to not be crushed by past circumstances. To this day, now in their 20’s, they are both grounded and rooted in the Christian faith. I am so very grateful God showed up and showed off with His Excellent Grace on that day.
We all have heard rumors, scandals, or just nasty talk about preachers in today’s world. Whether they were true, false or maybe a little of each, the fact is that they were all in the press and they all got attacked and mocked and accused of many things. The reason I bring this up is because I was thinking about Billy Graham these last few days. I was recalling all of the times I heard about his affairs, scandals, money hungry ways, and every behavior that I remember hearing about Billy Graham in my lifetime. The problem was, I could not recall any. Not one incident that was in the media concerning Billy Graham.
At first I thought to myself maybe I am too young to remember all his dark times. However after doing some research on him I was surprised to find out that not only was he a straight shooter with very few accusations of any type, but that to the contrary he had set records on the other side. He preached in nearly all the countries in the world, he was called on by more presidents and world leaders than anyone in history for spiritual advice, and he lived a clean life throughout his ministry. Was Billy Graham a sinner? Of course. He had the same disease we all have, according to the Bible, the sin disease we were born into. But he had an outstanding way of standing firm against the sins that so easily entangle many people and preachers today.
I want to give my two cents as to why Bully Graham lived and died as the greatest spiritual mentor in the history of this planet. There are five things I believe he did that made him the man able to excel at his calling like no other.
1- He was humble. There was never a hint of him thinking he was better than anyone in the world, as a matter of fact I think he pointed that out himself all the time.
2-He obeyed his calling. Billy Graham sacrificed much of his beloved family time and missed out on many important events simply because he put God’s call on his life before everyone and everything else.
3-He was consistent. Billy Graham was the same whether he was preaching in Haiti, or Egypt to the rich. There was no favor for either. He did not try to please people according to their culture, although respectful of each.
4- He could not be bought. Billy Graham was not interested in perks and special treatment and often turned down any opportunity to have greater housing, or meals then who he was around. He was equal to everyone and better than nobody.
5- By far and the most powerful reason I believe Billy Graham was the man he was is because he did something that is rare in today’s pulpit. He preached the Gospel as it reads in the Word of God. Never watered it down whether he was talking to a muslim imam, or to an atheist. The reason Billy Graham produced more spiritual fruit than any human in history other then Christ Himself, is because he understood that the power of the Gospel is what draws people and fills pews. Not canoe trips and fancy luncheons. It was his passion to preach the Jesus of the bible and Him alone. He knew the secret that most today don’t know or don’t practice today; stay true the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit will move in mighty ways.
John 14:6 says ” Jesus said ” I am the way, the truth and the life. No man shall see the Father except through me.” This is a truth that Billy Graham NEVER compromised no matter who he was speaking to. He knew that sticking with the truth would bring forth a harvest, and boy did it. Stadiums filled to capacity all over the world everywhere he went. The most admired of spiritual leaders. Even those who professed another ” way” or ” religion ” flocked to see him, and I believe it was because no matter what hat they wore in the religious world, something inside them knew that they knew that they knew that what Billy Graham preached was the absolute truth.
I would love to have a front row seat at the judgement when rewards are handed out to the faithful of believers. I don’t think any eye has seen nor has any ear heard the things Billy Graham is now facing. How awesome of an example for us all, and what an incredible honor to live in a time when we got to hear him and see him, even if on television and in books. Thank you Rev. Graham for giving us all something to hope for in Christ, and someone to be like on earth, in you.
I have reached a point in the last year that I am going to act on some things that have been just eating me up for some time. There are several things I could go into, but I am sticking with the one that is bothering me and doing the most damage to society in general to write about today. The issue is concerning your personal beliefs and my right not to have them shoved down my throat everywhere I go. Many of you already know where I am going with this but I encourage to read through this anyhow.
Each day I leave my house I see my neighbors taking their kids to school and it never fails they have a kid with a tee-shirt on preaching it. I send my kids to school and sure enough even on the walls of the hallways I see posters and other signs of it. I go to the store and I see this brain washing going on in the clothing section, the toy section and even the checkout girl will sometimes have a shirt on or a button on with this propaganda on it. I cannot take my family to a movie anymore because it seems these days there is almost always a movie on the marquis about this guy.
If you choose to idolize and worship this imaginary dude, do so on your own time, because I should not have my family be forced to see it, read about it and be given tickets to your ” conventions” and events to celebrate your pretend friend which in my opinion is for the weak-minded. We do just fine in life without your crutch.
I am formally announcing the formation of a group to ban together and pool our resources to fight for these symbols . If it takes every penny we have we need to live in a free world where our kids are not brainwashed by these cult groups who feel a need to create some pretend friend in the sky who can fly around in the air and watch over cities and people who follow him. As a matter of fact do you people have any idea how many billions of dollars are spent each year to buy all these trinkets and shirts and look a like figures? Its amazing.
The other day I was in the grocery and the two teenagers behind my family and I in line were blabbing about him right in public! Blah Blah Blah I had to remind my kid’s after words that those guys were really out there and had mental health issues.
That is what this country needs. Some formal opposition to the belief of this ” superman”. Why should we have to see posters of him in our schools and on our backpacks. Why should I have to be subject to that ridiculous image of their ” superman” at almost every place I go?
So what do you all think? What do you mean it s a dumb idea because Superman does not exist? Does this mean it would be valid only if Superman was truly real? If it was truly irritating to some people because they would rather not hear his name, much less see his face?
If you think it is a dumb idea to propose a ban on Superman propaganda and get the name out of schools and public places, then you surely know Superman does not exist. Therefore it would be silly to spend millions of dollars to avoid hearing or seeing his image anywhere, right?
And so the same applies to Jesus Christ correct? If you really think about it, the only reason anyone would want to pay millions to avoid the name of Jesus, would be to ease the conscience – correct?
The truth of all this is that as the Bible states, we all have knowledge of God. The only reason anyone would make any effort to squash the name of Jesus or prevent yourself from being exposed to Him or His word, would be to temporarily avoid Him at any cost. But what about when this life ends for you? How will you sidestep judgement? You cannot.
” If anyone causes one of these little ones those who believe in me-to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea”
Matthew 18:6- NIV
Not everyone is aware of the numbers on this, but almost every child / teen that is molested ends up depressed, addicted, hopeless or suicidal. If they do manage to survive the sick abuse that goes on in the Catholic church-they usually end up on the street running with gangs. It is rare that anyone survive this and live a decent life.
So perhaps Jesus is speaking of this when He said the words above. At any rate, I encourage you – if you have ANY part of getting your kids, or anyone’s to a catholic church-remember this statement from Jesus Christ.
There are currently around 30k priests in the USA under investigation for sexual crimes against minors. And listen to this- those are THEIR numbers so imagine what they may be in reality.
It just is not worth it. Get you kids away from these freaks who use God’s name to sodomize 5 year olds.
Just Say No.
Here is the link through TubiTv to the movie that should disgust everyone, and make those who ever leave their kids alone with a priest stop it. Remember as you watch, there are 28k priests under investigation by the Catholic priests under investigation as we speak…
And those are numbers coming from the Catholic church itself, so you have to figure double that in reality..Watch Deliver Us From Evil below…
If you are still unaware of the pedophile racket in the Catholic church, haven’t followed my many posts in the series on Father Gondek in North Carolina, or live under a rock, then stick with me.
This post should clear up any questions you may have about the risk you take if you ever leave your children alone with a priest. These are not my words but a documentary where you to hear the most pitiful , pathetic and coached reasons why pedo-priests molest kids.
I cannot provide you with the link directly and I realize not everyone will take the 5 minutes it takes to download the free movie, but for the many who have followed my series on this ( 2nd most popular posts ever on here) I promise you will be glad to actually see what goes on behind the scenes, from the horse’s mouth. If you already use the app called Tubitv
then just search the name of this documentary. If you don’t have the app then let me tell you its 100% free movies, very quick download and very cool.
This is the cover of the movie..
I hope to make an even more comprehensive film one day about Father Albert Gondek, and the Charlotte NC diocese which just recently supported him as he was found guilty of molesting 8 boys over a two-year period.
If you have not been following my series on him, just search his name on here as we have posted at least 20 articles on him.
It is very important that everyone get educated on what goes on especially since people give millions of dollars to this organization. You should know what you’re paying for. If you can stomach it…Its worth taking a few minutes to download- plus Tubitv is a great feee app to watch free movies and television shows with.
