Don’t you just love watching people at Walmart? Or going onto the peopleofwalmart.com site to see pictures of those who have thrown dignity out the window? I am a people-watcher by nature, so I’m constantly observing. Something stood out to me today – a man with a t-shirt with the word “LUST” on it.
Lust is not just sexual. Dictionary.com defines it also as “a passionate or overmastering desire or craving (usually followed by for): a lust for power.” How many of us are mastered by cravings? Sweet tea? Desserts? Women? Men? Money? Nicer houses? Nicer cars?
I’m not sure why the man was wearing this shirt, but it provoked this thought. If there is anything that you crave more than pleasing the Lord Jesus, it’s wrong. Call me narrow minded if you will, but God does not share the throne of your life. Jesus said in Matthew 6 that “where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Where is your heart? If it’s in the wrong place, it’s never too late to change!
