When You Don’t Know What to Write/Say

There are several moments that come about in life when we don’t know what to write or say. It may be in the event of someone’s passing or a tragic moment or crisis in our own life or in the life of someone close to us. I’m so glad to know tonight that Jesus understands.

Here are a few verses that will encourage you in understanding that God makes sense of our silence and inability to articulate in times of distress and trial.

“Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:14-15‬ ‭NKJV‬

“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” Romans‬ ‭8:26-27‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The bottom line is that when you can’t utter the words, the Spirit of God stands in the gap for you. Take comfort in that, my dear friends. God knows. He sees. He cares.
