Doing Gods Work? Or Working For God ?

Are we busy doing God’s work? Are you making lists of things that he will like -volunteering, being nice to others and helping paint the church office and all?

Or are you doing God’s will?

There is a difference you know. Doing nice things,  nice works and being nice te to people are great. And maybe those are God’s will for you. Until you know , those are your works. . What about God’s will for you ? Only way to know God’s will is to be so close to God that you hear his voice. And the only way to hear his voice  says to be in his Word and prayer and to be sensitive to the spirit of God.

If a long-lost friend called you on the phone you hadn’t talked to in years would you recognize their voice or would you ask who it is? You probably would have to ask who it is and then after they talk to you -you would say oh it’s been a long time. If you talk to them every week or every day you wouldn’t ask who it was, you know immediately who it was and you would recognize your voice.

It’s no different with God. The more we are in communication with God through prayer and the Word the more we recognize His voice clearly. It  is then we can discern the things that he has for us to do. It’s about drawing close to God and the fruit of that is knowing His will.

Just a thought!

I have a great desire to help others make it through times that I myself have had to navigate. I understand the process, the pain, and the support needed. I, and the rest of my team all have both the formal education to coach others but more importantly we also have the life experience which allows us to relate to all the phases and hurdles that come with recovering from issues like depression, addiction, domestic violence, spiritual confusion, and much more. I feel that the combination of formal training and life experience allows us to meet those we help every point of need- in a real way.

  1. This is a great post. We have to be very close to him in prayer and fasting, and in being sensitive to be able to hear and recognize his voice, so that we can know his will for our life, not just working for him blindfolded.
