Sometimes I Get This Funny Feeling That Someone is Watching Me…

Ouch! That looks like it would ruin a whole day for someone…but the guy is spared and walks away. Happens to us all the time in different ways, being rescued or saved by a second or a mere foot.

Maybe not as wild and crazy  as a hungry gator, but pretty close calls that could have turned out much worse then they did! So how did they work out in your favor anyhow? Did mother nature steer the vibes in your direction the last time you were saved from a mess? Did the universe step in for you ? Perhaps the ancient god Thor is the one. I actually believe that God (Jehovah) is responsible for the rescues in my life.

The good news is the we can start appreciating and seeing all of the rescues or times of favor in our lives! It as simple as changing our way of thinking.Wake up each day and vow to name 10 things you are thankful for .Sound hard? It may be at first and then it is very easy, just a little training for the brain and it all falls into place. When we first wake up now, most of us tend to load ourselves up with all the work or things that need to get crammed in, Instead, remind yourself of all the blessings in your life, You may be surprised at how you begin to remember them! For me, it might be my children, my health, memories of my family, friends, and most important to me, the Cross.

There is actually a number you can assign to yourself, like take 13. You say thanks for at least 13 things right off the bat. Maybe you start easy at 6, Whatever you pick as a number, just make sure your positive thoughts or comments outnumber any critical ones by around 10:1.

The idea here is that the habit spreads into other areas of your life, like parenting.and relationships in general, If you learn to think and speak positively in your own life, you can do the same in your interactions with peers, or kids. I have learned that a ratio of 10:1 works well with teenagers for example. In order to get the positive in, you sandwich a negative comment with a positive. For example ” Susan, You look very nice today, but your room is a mess so clean that before we leave. How about 20 minutes Susan, your such a good cleaner I bet you have no problem in that time!

Anyway, the point is that positive encourages positive in relationships and our own state of mind. There is much more to be said on this topic so maybe I will share some other tricks to help make our lives a little easier! For now the challenge for all of us is to take is to try and find 6 things positive to say to the person we talk to, and that’s over the course of a day, not just bombarding them with nice lines…lol

Its a ballpark number and if you are near there you will feel very different and you should notice your family being much more kind or respectful when they speak. So, good luck and until next time! Stay away from the gators

I feel that the combination of formal training and life experience allows us to meet those we help every point of need- in a real way.
